Since the last Firefox update (44.0.2, installed 2-15-16) I am no longer able to select 2-sided printing from my printing preferences menu. It comes up set to "Off" and is grayed out (not select-able). I have always been able to select it in the past, and I still can with Internet Explorer (IE10), or if I try to print any type of file from my computer. Why is my 2-sided printing option now disabled in Firefox?

I have:

Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
Lexmark Prevail Pro705 printer (with duplexer)

Also, my printer's software and firmware are up-to-date.

3-8-16: Does anyone pay attention to posts like this? I posted this question 2 weeks ago and still not a single response. I will soon be forced to give up on Firefox, because I will do that before I will give up my 2-sided printing.

Sorry this thread hasn't been answered, but I guess that no one had an answer for you and I can't provide a satisfactory answer either.

Best suggestion that I have is to check with Lexmark for updated software. If you had it before, you should still have it. I'm not aware a anything that was changed in Firefox with regards to a printer feature such as that.

On the few printers that I have ever had which offered 2-sided printing, that feature was part of the Print driver software and the "option" was in the "Properties" for that printer.

On Windows, do a { Ctrl + P } from the keyboard and then open Properties, when that Printer - Name is selected at the top of that dialog box. That is where that type of option would appear.

Sorry, I can't give you a screenshot example of that option - I don't have a Lexmark printer and the cheap Brother 3-in-1 that I have now doesn't offer 2-sided. I have to use odd or even pages in "Other Options". and then flip the stack and run the paper thru a 2nd time to get it to print like a "book".

First, as I stated in my original post, I checked with Lexmark and my printer's software and firmware are up-to-date.

Second, I have to click on Properties any and every time I want to use 2-sided printing. This opens my Printing Preferences menu, which includes a drop-down menu for 2-sided printing. In the past, I could select 2-sided printing here from Firefox or from anywhere else. From Internet Explorer, or for any file on my computer, this is still true. Only since the Firefox 44 update am I no longer able to select 2-sided printing from Firefox. The 2-sided printing option is set to "Off" and is grayed out (not select-able).
