Volume Control On Keyboard Stops Working In Netflix & YouTube In Fullscreen Mode
I recently switched to firefox from internet explorer. Sadly, I'm no longer able to use the volume wheel on my keyboard to increase/decrease volume on sites such as netflix or youtube when viewing in fullscreen mode. I'm able to use the volume wheel in fullscreen using IE, and chrome. And the volume wheel works when using media player or VLC. This is a firefox issue as other programs and browers are not affected.
Something about firefox fullscreen mode must be locking certain key combinations or shortcuts out. I looked through about:config to see if I could find an obvious setting but I am not that advanced of a user yet.
To adjust volume while viewing video in fullscreen mode with firefox, I have to exit fullscreen mode, adjust volume, then re-enter fullscreen mode. This can really spoil the atmosphere If I have freinds over or my partner and I are watching a movie. Because there are other people in the house, I try to respect that by keeping the volume at a reasonable level. This means frequent changes of the volume level - particularly in shows where the actors voice levels is barely audible relative to the ambient noises and music during action scenes.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Then reinstall the latest version.
Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Is the problem still there?
While still in Safe Mode,
Type about:support in the address bar and press Enter. Under the main banner, press the button; Copy Text To Clipboard.. Then in the reply box at the bottom of this page, do a right click in the box and select Paste. This will show us your system details. No Personal Information Is Collected.

Thanks for the help but the problem is still there. I followed the steps posted and removed / updated the flash plugin.
Running the browser in safe mode did not correct the issue either.
PS - How did you know what plugins I was using ?

It's possible the software doesn't know about this. Can you check your settings?

It works in everything except for Firefox and then only for apps using fullscreen mode. Its like something about FF fullscreen locks out keyboard shortcuts. My research this problem has existed for quite some time and hasnt been addressed.
Thanks for trying. Ill just have to search for a more compatible web browser.
