FIrefox all of a sudden doesn't work, I re-installed it a couple of times already, after installation I have launch Firefox button with a check mark, but no firefox window. I see firefox.exe in the Task Manager, it has some CPU usage, and CPU usage drop down to zero after a few minutes. No firefox window, I even left it as is for a few hours, nothing happened. Looked in the support forum, tried "firefox.exe -P", "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -P, no profile window show up.

Can you open the System menu via "Alt + Space" in case the Firefox window is off screen?

Try to rename/remove the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder. Firefox profile folder is in a hidden location in AppData\Roaming.

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

"AppData" (XP: Application Data; Mac: ~/Library; Linux: ~/.mozilla) is a hidden folder.
