I get an error 404 when trying to access the independent.co.uk news site. Other sites are fine and it works in MS Edge.

I have cleared browser cache and cookies and tried in safe mode - also refreshed firefox but nothing has worked so far

Do you use a bookmark or are you starting with the main (home) page of this website?

If you use a bookmark then navigate to the web page starting with the main page or the sign in page in case there is a problem with this bookmark.

Hi

Thank you for your reply. I had already tried this and it didn't work. The problem is however now resolved. I think it was down to Ad Blocker Plus which somehow disappeared as I was trying various things - and my site started working again, I wish I understood this! I had tried turning ABP off but that hadn't helped. Not sure now if I should reinstall it....

Hi   !

I had no problem with independent.co.uk with AdBlock Plus enabled, so that's not the problem.

Just make sure that you allow cookies for that site :

Click on the 'i' in a circle at the upper left side of the address bar; click on the little black arrow and then on 'More Information'. Under the Permissions tab, scroll down to : ' Set Cookies' and click 'Allow'.
