website not refreshing
The following website has updates for 2018, but they are not refreshing in Firefox or Safari on my ipad, but they are refreshing on my phone (Android) and my husband's iphone, so we know that they work. The website is this one http://www.southernvets.org.au/racing/results/ On my PC (Windows), it only shows 2017, not 2018 results. I have done your suggested options of removing caches, cookies, deleting the website from my favourites, CTRL + F5, but nothing works. Do you have any other suggestions? I am not aware if the web person for the club has done anything different. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help. After contacting the club website people with your suggestions, they have now fixed the problem and it works all AOK. So does the other site (for whatever reason). Thank you so very much! Regards,

SAFE MODE
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:
- all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
- default theme is used (no persona)
- userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
- default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
- Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
- hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
- plugins are not affected
- preferences are not affected
TEST If the site works in Safe Mode then it is your Extensions or your Profile.
If is your Profile :

Thank you for your prompt feedback. I tried your suggestion, but it did not solve my issue. So the good thing is that isn't my profile! What can you suggest to do next. I can view it on my smartphone, but not the Windows PC (laptop), which I need to print information, or my ipad. I am guessing I might need to contact the administrator of the club website, but I need to let them know what to do (as I do not!). Thanks for any help.
One way to bypass caches is to modify the URL with a query (or if there also is a query, to modify the query). So for example:
http://www.southernvets.org.au/racing/results/
Add a question mark and some text:
http://www.southernvets.org.au/racing/results/?1
If you already had a query string (starting with question mark) then add an & sign and some text:
http://www.southernvets.org.au/racing/results/?1&2
Can Firefox get fresh data using either of those URLs?
Hi and thanks for your prompty reply. However, it has not resolved the issue (still!! Gracious me!)! I put in the first query like you suggested, and now I get the URL http://www.southernvets.org.au/cpanel_account_suspended.html and I cannot remove this even to go back to their other pages. I have tried removing the cache history again, to no avail. I have even tried Internet Explorer, and it is picking up the same URL. There is no problem with the website as I can still see it on my smartphone. Help!! (Thanks!)
Does your PC use any form of indirect connection, such as a proxy server, private VPN, Hola, Tor, etc.?
You can view Firefox's own connection setting here:
- Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
- Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
- Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it
In the search box at the top of the page, type proxy and Firefox should filter to the "Settings" button, which you can click.
The default of "Use system proxy settings" piggybacks on your Windows/IE "LAN" setting. "Auto-detect" can lead to a flaky connection. You may want to try "No proxy".
Any difference?
Sadly, no. I still get http://www.southernvets.org.au/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi (but at least I got a nicer version of "the page is suspended" and I have to contact the provider. The website is really okay. By putting in the ?1 I have obviously locked myself out of it. I am too scared to try it on the ipad. Suggestions?
I don't know why adding a query string led to that strange page.
Does it make any difference if you try the original address in a private window (bypassing Firefox's cache and cookies)?
I tried that. It didn't work still. It's still suspended. I have removed caches on Firefox, IE, Edge and Chrome. It's still doing the same thing. I can't seem to delete this "suspended" thing at all. I'd just like the "old" web page back!
Went to your page : http://www.southernvets.org.au/racing/results/ just now and 2018 results are up and 2009-2017 are archived.

Thank you. I have emailed them and await their response. In the meantime, do you know how I stop the "website suspended" part what it is doing now? Or will it fix if they (the club website person) makes changes that you have suggested? Or do I have to contact my internet service provider? (which will be a big pain). Please let me know and I think you for your immense, prompt and kind help.
I am now getting the same issue with this website on Firefox and Safari: http://www.nsw.cycling.org.au/ However, I can view it on my IE browser AT WORK. Does this website also have http issues, or is there something funny going on with my preferences that is flowing through to every device (except my mobile phone)? I have run anti-virus this morning, but there were no issues. Thanks (again!!!).
Has someone who hates cycling taken over your computer?
But seriously, I can't see any relationship between those sites, so it's very odd that they are both malfunctioning on your computer, and only on your computer, not other devices.
