Hello,

I visited the website http:// y2mp3 .cc to convert a Youtube video into mp3.

I must mention that I did not agree to install anything from that website.

Then I started noticing adware messages mentioned to be from y2mp3.

I restarted Firefox in safe mode but saw nothing unusual.

This is an attack on firefox.

I want to remove this adware, I want that website mentioned as dangerous, and I want a security update.

Looking forward to actions and answers.

Regards

Thank you FredMcD for your answers.

I remembered that I had allowed said website to send me notifications and that is the problem, it started sending me notifications in form of ads even when I wasn't on it.

I disabled notifications from that website and I don't expect to have this problem in this future.

Regards

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a good ad / pop-up blocker.
