NOT WORKING!- "When you enter a username and password that you haven't already saved for a website, Firefox will ask if you want to save it."
The above quoted Mozilla statement about how to set up automatic sign ins on websites does not work, no such window pops up asking me if I want to save the login info. for future automatic login to websites. Why does the window not show? Thanks.

Are you using any password add-ons/programs?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Hi thanks for your help! I figured out the problem- you cannot add new usernames and passwords if you are browsing in Private mode, which I was when trying to add a username and password. So I switched to regular Firefox mode and the pop-up window asking if I want to save the new username and password came up, and I used it successfully.
I found where in the Mozilla info. it does say that you have to be out of Private mode for it to work. Then once you have entered the username and password, you can switch back to Private mode and all auto username and passwords work that I want to work/sign in automatically. You just can't add a username and password for auto sign in to a website when in Private mode.
Ah. In Firefox Private Mode, nothing is recorded.
