I can see in my History that I visited a certain page on a specific day in June. How do I re-open that page to see what it looked like on that date without affecting the Most Recent Visit date? Windows 7 Enterprise Firefox 62.0.2

I only know one way: right-click > Open in a New Private Window

(Also, Firefox 55 is no longer supported, but that's a different issue. Update Firefox to the latest release)

Hello, thank you for that.

I was able to open the page and it didn't affect the Last Visited date but unfortunately, as the page was a form, it opened with no fields entered so it wasn't exactly as I last visited it. I suppose that's not possible.

Hi Marion, I think the problem is that Firefox's Library window only ever shows the latest visit time. If you need documentation of earlier visit times for pages you return to, you would need to use an external tool such as this program:

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/mozilla_history_view.html

Or possibly an add-on could do it, but I haven't heard of one that does.

As an alternative you can open a New Private Window and use the history sidebar in that window if you need to open more than one history link.

Form (POST) data is usually stored in the cache and isn't part of the history. A link can only have GET data (?xxx=xxx) appended to the URL. If pages are updated or created via AJAX then such a page also can't be restored. Only saving the page as a screenshot can fully save the current state state.
