I have 'lost' my email folders on one of my accounts on Thunderrbird on my Desktop, the folders are still there on my Lap top! Will synching take the Desk top as the primary and delete the folders on the lap top?

re :I have 'lost' my email folders on one of my accounts on Desktop

Is that account a pop or an imap mail account ?

If imap: Try to reselect folders.

  • Right click on imap mail account name in folder pane and select 'Subscribe'
  • select/highlight folders
  • click on 'Subscribe'
  • click on 'OK'

Please post the following information.

What is shown in the profile name folder? In Thunderbird

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • click on 'Open Folder'

A new window opens showing the contents of your 'profile name' folder.

  • Click on 'Mail' folder to see contents.
  • Post image showing contents

If you see two pop mail accounts, do the following for each of them.

  • click on pop mail account name to see contents
  • make sure the 'Size' column is enabled.
  • Post image(s) showing contents.

In Thunderbird

  • Right click on pop mail account name in Folder Pane and select 'Settings'
  • Select 'Server Settings'
  • Bottom right you will see 'Local directory:'
  • Copy all the contents in the text box (some will be hidden off to the right as text box is probably too small to reveal all), so be sure you have copied all of it.
  • Paste the info into this forum question so the forum can see where the current pop mail account is pointing.
