About a month ago all of my login passwords disappeared and firefox isn't saving them anymore. I tried using the logins.jason with key3 or key4 files from the Old Firefox but it keeps renaming them corrupt.

It's been asking to save my passwords but it's not actually saving saving them and this is turning into a real; problem.

I posted about it then but I can't find it and besides what they said to do didn't work and someone said it was posted in the wrong place or something so I'm posting it again.

Thanks

If the logins.json and key4.db (or key3.db) do not match or there is otherwise a problem with logins.json then Firefox renames the file to logins.json.corrupt.

Can you save new password in the new logins.json file that Firefox creates in this case?

Note that you need to remove key4.db if you want to try logins.json and key3.db. The logins.json file is a plain text file, so you can possibly check its content in a text editor or in Firefox using the builtin JSON viewer.

No, I cannot save Login information

Using Firefox, I opened the old login.jason file with all my passwords and this is what it says

"SyntaxError: JSON.parse: bad control character in string literal at line 1 column 16386 of the JSON data":

That was in this thread (and you had every right to post there, as the OP of that thread had the same problem) :

Is there a solution to this problem? FF did not create a json.corrupt file, it just deleted all of my saved logins and I'm in real trouble. I thought I could trust FF with my passwords. Now I can't get into any of my accounts. I've been up all night trying to figure out a solution. Why did FF delete all of my passwords?
