I'm running the latest version of firefox, 65.0.2 (64bit) on a mac, os 10.14.3. Every day I get a message that Firefox can't update and it recommends I download a fresh copy. The notice got so annoying that I finally did what it said and downloaded a fresh copy, (even though I was running the latest version) and nothing changed. I'm still getting the same message 2 or 3 times a day. What is wrong with my Firefox that it thinks it needs me to download a fresh copy every day?

What does the error screenshot says.

I don't know how to make a screenshot, but the message comes from the menu at the top right corner of the browser page. It says, "Firefox can't update. Please download a fresh copy." If I follow the prompt, it takes me to the Firefox download page to get the version I'm already running. The message doesn't indicate that there's any error other than that it can't update. When I click <Firefox; about firefox> the program tells me it is up to date.

Firefox always shows "Update Ready to Install" :MAC Only SOLUTION: Remove /Users/<name>/Library/Caches/Mozilla/ which contained the directory /updates/Applications/Firefox/updates/

/Users/$u/Library/Caches/Mozilla/

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, when I went to find that folder, it doesn't seem to be where I expected it to be. I got as far as /Users/<name>/ and there was no Library folder. I also logged in as the system Administrator, and couldn't find the Library folder there, either. Does Mojave keep the library folder somewhere different from previous versions of OS X?

The User Library folder is hidden by default in MacOS Mojave, High Sierra, and macOS Sierra.

Thanks, the link you posted was very helpful. I got a little farther, but got stuck again: </Users/<name>/Library/Caches/Mozilla/updates/Applications/Firefox/updates> After that, I found an empty folder named "0", a file called <backup -update.log> and another file called <last-update.log> Where do I go from there? </p>

Okay, looks like my reply didn't come through. The point is, once I got to the updates folder, there wasn't anything in it but an empty folder "0" and a couple of other things. Nothing like what FredMcD said would be there. What folder am I supposed to delete?

/Users/<name>/Library/Caches/Mozilla/

<name> means your username on the computer.

Yeah, I figured that's what it meant. So should I delete the whole Mozilla folder? /Users/name/Library/Caches/Mozilla
