how to disable F10 hotkey

more options

Long story short, I use push to talk on my discord. I use the G10 key, which is just an auto bind to F10. When I push G10 to talk while using Firefox, it is like I am holding down F10, and the screen jitters and bounces about WAY to much for me to even read anything.

Been through the settings and keys but there is NO way to turn off F10. Does anyone know how?

I am not aware of any built-in way to disable F10 from activating the menu bar. However, if you turn the menu bar on full-time, it should be way less distracting so I suggest giving that a try. Here's how.

Use any of these methods to show the toolbar list:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank spot on the tab bar (or the "+" button)
  • (menu bar) View > Toolbars
On Windows, tap the Alt key to activate the menu bar temporarily.
  • in Customize mode > Toolbars button (see: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars)

Then click Menu Bar to toggle between displayed and hidden.

There are extensions that leverage the ability of web pages to intercept key presses to modify their behavior, but I don't know whether that would work with F10 or whether it can be set to "do nothing." You could take a look at this one or others like it to see what you can see:
