There are multiple ways to store favourite pages in Firefox. Choose whichever you like. Personally, I use all of them to some extent. To access some of them more easily, you may want to see How to Customize Toolbars.
- Bookmarks in Firefox are the most common way to store your facourite pages. You can easily bookmark a page by clicking the star at the right of your address bar (may be in the ··· menu if you hid it). You can pin your bookmarks menu to the toolbar for quick access (also covered in aforementioned page).
- Bookmark Keywords (not to be confused with Tags) are advanced settings of bookmarks that allow very fast access with your keyboard. You can, for example, set Facebook's bookmark's keyword to "fb" and Facebook comes up every time you type "fb" and hit Enter in the address bar. You can even Assign shortcuts to search engines, so if you search YouTube a lot, you can add the YouTube search engine: Add or remove a search engine in Firefox and set its keyword to "yt", so when you type "yt cats" in the address bar you automatically search for "cats" on YouTube. Or you can use the bookmark keyword feature in combination with the "%s" search parameter to alter a parameter in your bookmark's URL. For instance, if you set the keyword "r" for bookmark "reddit.com/r/%s" (you need to manually alter the address in Properties to add %s), typing "r aww" into the address bar will redirect you to "reddit.com/r/aww". This is useful for search engines that have not been implemented as Firefox add-ons (e. g. "google.com/search?q=%s&tbm=isch" will search Google Images), pages of a PDF ("file:///C:\Docs\long_document.pdf#page=%s" will redirect you to specifies page), subpages of your own webpage that has no search function ("example.com/%s"), etc.
- Customize your Firefox New Tab page. This article will show you how to arrange your Top Sites (the rounded square thumbnails on your New Tab page), including adding custom ones, changing number of rows, showing/hiding suggestions/search bar etc.
