Thunderbird copies sent emails to a "third" email account

I use three Gmail accounts with Thunderbird (IMAP), say Account A, B and C. When I send an email from Account A or B then a copy is made in the respective account's Sent folder, but also to Account C. In addition when I reply to an email that I received in Account A or B, the reply is shown as being sent from Account C. I don't understand how the account settings became messed up and there is nothing obviously unusual in each account's settings.

It appears you have A and B sending through the smtp for C, so recipients of mail from A or B will see that it was sent from C, and so their replies go to C. This is done automatically by gmail, so you should set up separate smtp servers for each account:
