I am looking to change from Outlook to Thunderbird. But need to have the calendar synced to my Gmail calendar on my android phone. Will Thunderbird calendar sync to Gmail calendar?

From my last question......Sync calendar to gmail for android.
Why is this so hard.....what are they afraid of???
