Unreadable and strange characters in headlines on certain web sites

The headlines and some texts in between certain html-tags seems to be replaced by strange characters on certain web pages.

<h>-tags can be replaced completely by random characters and end up looking something like e?$£->>-fl'ƒÌ○þ". But when copy/paste-ing the healine into Word or something, the sentence is correct.

<a>-tags can add a question mark where a space is. Looking like "Click?here?for?more?information".

I've tried to completely reinstall Firefox but it doesn't help.

My co-workers do not have the same problem with Firefox.

This issue can be caused by an old bitmap version of the Helvetica ("helvetica neue","helvetica") font or (bitmap) fonts that Firefox can't display in that size.
Firefox can't display some old bitmap fonts in a larger size and displays gibberish instead.
You can test that by zooming out (View > Zoom > Zoom Out, Ctrl -) to make the text smaller.

Uninstall (remove) all variants of that not working font to make Firefox use another font or see if you can find a True type version that doesn't show the problem.
