On previous versions of Firefox, in Windows 7 Ultimate, I have it pinned to the taskbar, and I used to open from there and it opened normally and the icon stayed. Now, in the new version (6.0.2) I want to do the same but when I start the Firefox, in the taskbar appears another icon than the usual, so I have two Firefox icons in the taskbar and I don´t want to have two, but I want to keep it pinned to the taskbar.

Had the same problem. Disappeared after uninstall/install. Note: Version in Windows Installed Programs was displayed as 6.0.1. Maybe the cause of problem?

Launch Firefox using the icon on the taskbar. When it opens and you see the second icon appear, right click on the ORIGINAL one and select 'unpin from the taskbar' - the original icon will disappear. Then right click the second icon and select 'pin to taskbar'.

Close & open Firefox again to verify that this has solved the problem.

Hopefully should be job done!
