I have noticed if I'm on a 64 bit PC ( I am remote support for a product that needs 32 bit browser/32 bit java to work correctly), and they have upgraded to Firefox 8.0 it seems to install and run natively in 64 bit mode, and will not recognize Java 6 29 32 bit plugin.

If there was not a problem, I would not have asked the question. I have encountered this on 9 different pcs this week alone, all of them Windows 7 64 bit and had to swap them to a different browser for Java 6 29 to work.

If Java isn't working then make sure that Firefox finds a 32 bit Java plugin.

Thank you, I did already follow the steps outlined here in Mozilla and also in Java.com to make the plugin work. So far I've had 3 new pcs this morning, I've been working with all browsers and the java plug in for 6 years now, still cannot get java 6 update 29 to work with Mozilla on Windows 7 64 bit. I see in the forum you are also having issues with MAC 10.6 and 10.7 and java 6 29. Hopefully the next Firefox or java update will resolve this, as so far the only thing I have been able to do is put them on Chrome after spending 15 or more fruitless minutes uninstalling java, using the offline version, clearing the browser cache, checking all pop up blocker and other scripts in Firefox, and trying to manually enable java.
