FF after problem free use for 18 months will now only work in FF safe mode. Someone suggested Right clicking on firefox.exe and then Properties | compatibility Tab and finally choosing to run FF in Windows XP service pack 3 compatibility mode. This workaround seems to "solve the problem, but I am concerned that a) it is a temporary fix and the next time a plugin is updated; or b)FF has a new version update that this might again become a problem. I also wonder whether this approach will "cripple" any important FF features? While I am delighted to have FF seemingly back, this seems like a compromise!!

My FF setup is fairly vanilla with about 12 typical plugins from Java Adobe Google MS; no themes; and only a couple of extensions. An uninstall and re-install yesterday of FF 15 did NOT solve the problem of clicking on FF launch icon and then that always bringing up popup saying it had encountered problem and crashed with choices of restarting; running in safe mode; etc.
