I got this message yesterday. I got this message on one of my other PCs quite a while back, and it was a date/time issue, but on this pc that is not the case my date and time are correct. Any help would be very appreciated.

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.google.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified. What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Technical Details

www.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

As far as I know there have been no add ons recently put on the laptop, but I can not be sure as my 13yr old daughter was on it most of the weekend.

I already did a malwarebytes scan on it.

Im not sure what to do or what to look for, and a lot of the computer lingo gets me confused cause I do not know what all of it means =/

Not sure where to go from here!

I just went into "tool...Options, Advanced and then Network" and went into the connections settings and click on the "no proxy" option and it is seeming to load google up just fine now...but my question is what does clicking the no proxy option do?

more options

Disabling the option does not allow firefox to pass through a proxy server. See here for more information about proxy server: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_server

With that being said...since doing that seemed to "fix" the problem and it is now letting me go to Google without any problems, is doing that option a suitable fix?

What were the previous connection settings before you changed them?

Was there a proxy selected or the default "Use the system proxy settings" ?

I had this problem on FF and also on Chrome. In my case, I was clicking "log in" on Snapfish and the pop up wouldn't load correctly. I would get the security message with no options to move forward anyway. I came upon my solution accidentally. I was going to email Snapfish, so went to Contact Us and then Other Ways to Contact Us, at which point I got a the same error (full page) but this time, there was the option to Proceed Anyway and then Allow. This did it for me and not I can log in regularly. So my suggestion is to find a page on that site that will get the Allow Anyway dialogue to appear and then add the exception that way. Hope this helps.

My mother had exactly the same problem. I´ve cleaned everything was possible, used PC Tune, all cleansing and wiping tools. Since then, although I don´t know why, no mess...messages about untrusted connections.
