Menu bar and address bar have both disappeared

I'm asking for a friend, but this also happened to me a while back. The menu bar (File, Edit etc), the address bar, and the tab section have all disappeared. When it happened to me, I managed to get them all back by resetting Firefox somehow, but it was around a year ago (possibly after a Firefox update?) so I can't remember exactly how I managed it. Before you ask, we're not in full screen mode, and no, clicking Alt or f10 or f11 or anything like that does not work. We cannot get to the Troubleshooting Information in order to reset Firefox as there is no Help button, no address bar to type about:support into, and no tab section to right click on to get toolbars back etc. Please help?!

hello headfulladreads, please try pressing the shift-key while firefox is launching in order to bring it up in safemode and try to reset firefox there.

You can check for problems with a corrupted localstore.rdf file.
