Why can I not get v30 to have the same layout as v26?
In v26.0 of Firefox, I configured my menu bar ("File", "Edit", etc) to contain the following after the menu items:
- back button - forward button - reload/stop button - home button - progress indicator - site rating indicator - address bar - tab-list drop down
This kept Firefox nicely uncluttered. After upgrading to v30.0:
- the address bar has to be below the tabs (ie it cannot be moved to the menu bar) - there are no forward/back buttons (they appear to be part of the address bar) - there does not appear to be a reload/stop button - there does not appear to be a progress indicator - there does not appear to be a site rating indicator
This is shit. How the fuck can this be called progress???

You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29.

Precisely. How is "loss of functionality" progress or an upgrade? Why should I have to install an extension just to get a "reload" button? What a pile of crap. Why not have a "Use shit interface" tickbox in the Options dialogue so people can choose if they want their version of Firefox to have pants functionality?
If you hate the new UI so much don't use it. It's as simple as that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and it's obvious some users will dislike it but at least try to get it working to your preference. Use add-ons if you have to since Firefox is customizable almost anything is possible.
If you're here to just complain about the changes and not take into consideration our suggestions don't bother wasting our time when other users need support.

Well, strangely, this is where I was directed in order to report a problem with Firefox.
And if you think it's perfectly acceptable for a browser not to have a reload button then frankly you're the one with the problem, you and the rest of the "developers" who thought that was a brilliant innovation.
I don't want to use the new UI, but then that means I'm left using an old, buggy version of the browser. Thanks, that's a great solution, almost on a par with the idea of removing standard buttons in the new versions of the software.
The new UI does have a reload button it is on the end of the addressbar.
The solution as you are aware is to use an addon to customise Firefox if you want it to look like the previous version.

You could look at https://www.mozilla.org/about/forums/#general-development but I doubt you will find anywhere where developers or Mozilla staff wish to discuss the subject.
There has been a combined Reload/Stop on far right end of the Location (address) bar ever since Firefox 4.0 by the way.

YOU CANNOT IGNORE THE LARGEST PART OF YOUR USER BASE, AND SUPPORTERS!
WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF I CHANGED YOUR BROWSER INTO A PILE OF BROWN-STINKY, THEN TRY TO WHITE-WASH IT BY CALLING IT "STREAM-LINED"??

That plugin does not restore 25. or earlier level of functionality to this broken browser.
IF you mean the UI then this Extensions (not a plugin) does allow you to change the ui to look much the same or even better compared to UI of Fx 28.0 and earlier.
You have to actually use it past just installing the CTR extension by Customize and in CTR Preferences as was instructed.
It does help alot thanks. However the top bar cannot be changed by this plugin [extension].
My next question is: How to remove that darn orange firefox button(Top Left), and get a grey bar back for "File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help"
The bad part though: Having to jump through all these "hoops" just to get back basic navigation and function to what easily was "The worlds best browser"!
This is a serious problem, I can only help relay this to so many of my friends who share in our grief, great sadness, and to an extent - betrayal.

Do you mean the Firefox icon on the title bar that opens the system menu if you right-click this button?
You can toggle the title bar on/off via the "Title Bar" button at the bottom left in the Customize palette window.
- "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize
- View > Toolbars > Customize
