OS: Window Vista 32bit/64bit Primary Browser: Firefox ver 32.0

Firefox is constantly refreshing. Facebook is especially bad. I'll start to read a post & the page refreshes 1-2 second later. I then have to scroll down, sometimes way down before I find the post. Can I stop Firefox from refreshing so often?

Some web pages refresh every few minutes via JavaScript or a meta refresh tag, but it shouldn't happen every few seconds.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
