I cannot send a mail in 'write', no send button, no menus
I replied to a message, when the screen opened up I did not see the formatting toolbar. I tried to see why by looking at the view pull down menu, but it was not shown. I thought to uncheck one view component at a time to see if it was there someplace, but after unchecking all the tool bars I still did not see the formatting toolbar.
That is the toolbar that I see if I select new message. Contains a smilely and insert photo icon and selection of text font and size.
I cannot even send the message because I see no send button

The ALT trick is a Microsoft shortcut. It is anyones guess how it will work on different systems. On mine I press and release and the toolbar appears and stays. To have it display all the time you have to go into the View-Toolbars and click it on.

All the toolbar choices will be listed under the View menu. If checked they display. If unchecked the do not. Unchecking them all does not make more appear.
Press the alt key to make the menu bar appear and turn your toolbars back on.
The formatting toolbar only appears when using HTML. You cannot format plain text. That is why it is called plain text.
The Send button is on the Composition Toolbar and you have to be in a Write window to turn it on.
When in the Write window when you select Options from the Menu Bar what do you have set for Delivery Format?
Thanks Airmail, everything is working now OK, the problem was I did press the ALT button but did not see the menu, that was because then I let the button loose and looked up and it was gone.
Is that normal? I press the ALT the menu is there, I click or press a button and it is gone!
