when I click on x to exit a message, the program closes. That didn't used to be the case. How to fix this?

On my old laptop running thunderbird 24, when I x out of a message, I was still in the program.

Now, with the latest version on my new laptop, when I x out of a message, it closes the program, and when I open the program again, that message is still open on the screen

this is very annoying is there an easy fix

did you miss the conversion to a tabbed application? I think you did.

So Tools menu > options > Advanced > reading and display and set messages to open in a new windows and you can continue to miss Thunderbird having tabs for messages.
