How do I set the default location for searches?
I suspect I know the answer to this but I'm going to ask anyway because,,,, I could be wrong. Immediately after upgrading the "DoNot Track" add-on to "Blur" I noticed that the default location for my google searches was no longer local to me. For example when searching for, let's say, a Pizza Hut in my area with google the result returned was for a location hundreds of miles away from me in the middle of the country. I could always depend on the results being for places near my town. I was able at one time by just hit and miss to reset my location in google but now i can't see where i did that. call me stupid but hey i'm old give me a break. Maybe someone could hold my hand and show me how I can reset my default location back to my town as it was once before. Thanks for any help you can give.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
Bookmark and use this; Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
i did get that add-on and installed it did what you said it would but i still have a problem. if i type a search in the address bar or the search window, either way, as long as i haven't closed and re-opened the browser it will search MY preferred location. but if i close the browser and re-open my settings are no longer used. it goes to some mid-west location instead of MY location for a result. soooooooooo given all that i think i'd like to get rid of BLUR because that seems to be the problem. can you suggest some other add-on that will adequately block trackers while at the same time keep track of my different log-ins and passwords the way BLUR would do? Or even perhaps a couple of apps that would work for this purpose?

I've decided to get rid of BLUR and go back to using the previous ver called DoNotTrack.
