in spywareblaster everything shows green.

"site preferences" in -clear history- and -options privacy- are both unchecked.

cleaned cache, cleaned cookies, did not help.

tried with FF open and FF closed, while i clicked in spywareblaster "enable all protection", no result.

the exception list is still empty.

any help would be appreciated.

Options > privacy settings (history) try to un-checked data / site-preferences.

in the explanation above, i say:

so that has been taken care of.

If you test one of the sites in the Spywareblaster, is it blocked as expected?

good point.

i went to the spywareblaster list and selected adbutler.com, and firefox goes straight to the website, so even no protection in the background.

strange.

Has Spywareblaster become disabled by chance? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../666588

It highlights this feature to be turned off: "do not have "site preferences" checked" in the clear cache on close in the options menu.

I do not know if this information is out of date*

no spywareblaster is not disabled.

in the end i have create a new profile via "firefox.exe -p" and of course now spywareblaster is installed under the exceptions button like always.

the original profile is still without the list, i will now abandon that one.

thanks for your help and time, all the best.
