Up until a few days ago I was using download helper to download various files to my PC. Yesterday I noticed it wasn't working. The file I want to download shows up in the log, I click on it, a Windows Explorer window pops up with the file name. I click on save as usual, the pop up closes and then nothing happens. No files are downloading. I don't even get a 0 byte file.

Anybody else have this problem and if so, is there a solution?

Thank you, ~k

I've also got this problem. It happened ever since Firefox "updated". First mozilla manages to break my xkit with the update before, and now this with their latest so-called update. Right now, I'm staring at a little (1) next to the downloadhelper icon. IT IS DOING F-ING NOTHING. Downloading youtube videos is VERY IMPORTANT TO ME! I need these videos to make youtube poops, to add to review videos, etc.

Please guys, we need your help.

edit: WHAT THE HELL!!! NO, I AM NOT WORKING ON THIS, I NEED HELP WITH IT TOO! WHY IS THIS STUPID FORUM SAYING THAT I WILL FIX IT?

Add-ons are supported by the add-on developers, not Mozilla Support.

If you look at the end of the About this Add-on section at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/ ... you will see that the add-on developer is aware of downloading issues when using Firefox 36 and is working on a solution.

You can wait for the next release of the add-on or you can test the Beta version linked from the add-on page.

Thank you. I don't see a link to the beta version though.

You're welcome. The paragraph with the test version link at the end of the About this Add-on section at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/ doesn't actually say "beta". It says this:

***********************
We are aware of downloading issues when using Firefox 36.
We have been working for months on a 100% new version which works on Firefox 36+ (it does not work on Firefox 35 and below) and we just released a first test version. If you want to test this version and provide feeback on it, please follow this link.

The link goes to https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/video-downloadhelper-5 which is the same link that cor-el just posted .... and that page links to http://www.downloadhelper.net/install-beta.php?version=5.0.0a1

Like I said before, add-ons are supported by the add-on developer, not Mozilla Support. I'm closing this thread as off-topic (see Mozilla Support rules and guidelines under Subjects covered in the support forum).

If you want to provide feedback about this add-on or need more help, please add a review to https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/ or follow the support links on that page.
