Apparently a DNS error redirect service.

https://windstream.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/272/~/windstream-search-overrides-my-current-search-client Q: How do I opt-out of the error redirect service? Looks like the opt-out is gone.

theres a "opt out" at the bottom right.. under the "about this page" button.. then it goes to a questionaire to select what search engine to use instead..but still doesnt make sense because it comes from the "ebay search".... weirdddd

This could be the new opt-out page: http://searchguide.windstream.net/prefs.php (choose "None -- DNS Error Page")

I assume this is your internet service provider because, if not, how did they get in the loop?!

Oops, I didn't see your post, you already know that.

This is not the only service provider which, upon discovering that the requested address does not exist, redirects your browser to a custom search page instead of honestly reporting that the page doesn't exist.
