Running Windows 7 and Norton Security with Backup. Upgraded to Firefox 39.0. Got notice that Norton toolbar would be disabled due to not being compatible. Per Norton's Announcement, a patch was released which would update the Norton toolbar to a compatible version. Just needed to run Norton's LIVE UPDATE and reboot multiple times. Have tried to update it per these instructions and still Norton toolbar has not been updated to the compatible version. The only other suggestion by other users is to uninstall Norton Security with Backup and reinstall it. Would like to see if there are other options to correct this issue without having to uninstall antivirus every time a new browser version is updated.

hi loeracs, if norton's updater isn't working to install the newest version of their toolbar on your system you'd probably have to contact symantec's support for help in getting their product to work or see if there are any workarounds.

The Norton toolbar update tends to work better if you do live update for new toolbar version before updating Firefox to a new major version.
