How can I make Thunderbird's Quick Filter Toolbar show up automatically on start-up (as other toolbars do) so I don't need to use Ctrl-Shift-K or the view menu?

I keep a lot of messages in my inbox (or other folders), and I frequently want to find messages on this or that topic, or from this or that person/organization. So I want what you're now calling the Quick Filter Toolbar to show up permanently, like the other toolbars do -- but since I updated to Thunderbird 38, it opens with that bar off, and I can't find or figure out any way to keep it on. Please help.
