I have backed up my ImapMail folder from C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxx.default\ImapMail

and then deleted Archived e-mails from my imap server to get more space.

Is it possible to access these e-mails from .msf files that are located in ImapMail folder backup? When I copy ImapMail folder backup to original location and start Mozzila, the copied files 2014.msf (size 86kb) and 2014 (122 763kb) disappear.

Thanks in advance for any help! Daniela

Chosen solution

imap mail is synchronized with the server, so you copy the folder in, in synchronizes the folder with the server and deletes the mail.

That is exactly how IMAP is supposed to work

Now if you copy them in "Local Folders" in the mail folder instead of the original location then you should see them without any synchronizations deleting them as local folders in not an IMAP account.

Thank you! I used ImportExportTools addon to import the archive folder.
