Firefox is constantly hanging, and I do mean constantly, maybe 3 times a minute. Happens mostly when switching tabs or on youtube.
Firefox has been hanging (not responding) very frequently, at least every few minute. It's been happening on youtube or switching from tabs. I've tried just about everything, from re-naming the "places.sqlite" to "places.sqlite.old" and doing re-installs (both deleting folder and uninstalling completely). There's no error that pops up, its just hanging, and then it comes back to normal after about 5 seconds. And the cycle repeats. Any new help would be great. Thanks.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Whoops, forgot to mention I had tried that. It didn't work in safe mode either. Just hanged a few moments later after I opened youtube and a new tab.
Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?
You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
- make sure you have the latest Flash version:
http://www.adobe.com/special/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html - check for updates for your graphics drive drivers
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration - disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
- disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
- disable hardware acceleration in Firefox

Tried it all, none work, just keeps hanging. A bit less than before, but still going.
