I have recently updated my desktop to Windows 10. Every few emails, Thunderbird freezes and no longer works. I can't delete any; I can click on other emails and they will be highlighted, but not show the contents in the lower pane. I finally have to close and reopen and it works for a few emails, then freezes again. I have tried opening without add-ons (safe mode), but the program continues to freeze. Is there a problem with Win 10?

What is your anti-virus software?

I use Avast free anti-virus. Have had no problem like this for years with T-bird and Avast. Seems to be happening after migrating to Win 10.

Try to start *Windows* in safe mode with networking enabled.

Still in Windows safe mode, start Thunderbird in safe mode.
