Firefox crashes
Computer: New Dell Latitude 3550 (acquired 1 month ago) OS: Windows 7 Professional
Firefox was installed shortly after the computer was purchased and has been working well until sometime after 3 PM Tuesday. Since then Firefox crashes immediately upon launching.
Steps taken so far: Uninstalled Firefox, rebooted computer, reinstalled Firefox. Run McAfee Anti Virus (new subscription, latest updates installed) Installed and run MalwareBytes Anti-Malware Premium edition which removed several Adware items. Run Windows SFC.exe (System File Checker) which identified a list of corrupted files and reported all were repaired. Uninstalled Firefox, rebooted the computer, downloaded new copy of Firefox installation files and reinstalled.
After all the above Firefox still crashes immediately upon startup Latest Crash ID: bp-f5a59f38-fea9-41d4-9f63-d7d4c2151028
I am using Microsoft Explorer to file this request for assistance.
What can I do next?

hi mysterytech - dell now apparently has released an update to their software which should address the issue. would you be able to test for us if this solves the issue and you can't get it to crash like before? therefore close the dell protected workspace program (by right-clicking its icon in the system tray, on the right of the windows taskbar) and start it again - afterwards check that the program version has updated to a version higher than 5.0.22075...

hi MysteryTech, unfortunately this seems to have been caused by an update to the Dell Protected Workspace that is running on your device - could you try uninstalling it in case you're not using it?
No need to remove Dell Protected Workspace. An hour or so after posting my inquiry I found that if I double-cick the Dell Protected Workspace icon on the desktop it launches Firefox successfully and happily! I posted this solution in response to another user's posting on this same issue.
Thank you for responding!

Yes, Dell Protected Workspace version is now 5.0.6-22075 and I can launch Firefox independent of the Dell Protected Workspace.
Thank you for the follow-up!
