With windows 10, upgrading TB to v 38.5 caused the message panel to immediately freeze up, had to disable lightning. Why?
I've used Thunderbird for 10 years with no problem until a couple of weeks ago. With windows 10, upgrading TB to v 38.5 caused the message panel to immediately freeze up and the only solution was to keep restoring windows back to a point where TB version 38.4 was in effect. I did disable Lightning and since then version 38.5 installed and so far is working as it should. Any idea how I can regain the use of Lightning?

remove the lightning addon. restart reinstall lightning

Thank you. I had removed lightning to get TB 38.5 to work properly but based on your suggestion above I then reinstalled lightning and everything appears to be working well.
