"NEXT UNREAD" button not functioning properly
Since installing the latest update of TB (38.7.1), the "Next Unread" button has lost some of its functionality. Previously, when I was reading a message full-screen, the button would (a) move through all unread messages in all folders and all accounts; (b) after completing the last unread message, close the full-screen view and return to the standard view with the focus on the last-read account/folder.
Since the update, it will: (a) no longer move automatically to the next account/folder with unread messages (b) continue to display the latest-shown unread message on reaching the end of the current/last-opened folder.
Is this a bug that needs reporting? If not, where is this new behaviour documented?

try restarting with add-ons disabled. It is on the help menu. Does that restore the functionality?
Yes, it does, but only partly. I cannot find any of my 25-odd installed add-ons that might be the cause. What I have done, which seems to give the desired effect, is simply remove the "Next Unread" button that I mentioned in my previous message. The "N" button now behaves as I wanted.
Many thanks

Which one is the "next unread" button?
Testing it with N (for "next unread") as shown in the menu accelerators/shortcuts it seems to work. When it gets to the end of the folder it asks if I want to go on to the next folder, giving me its name.
Whereas the F (for "forward" behaves more as you describe. But you specifically said "next unread".
I've never felt drawn to that way of navigating though messages. It feels akin to driving headlong, in fog, in the dark, with no headlamps and wearing a blindfold. You just don't know what's coming up in front of you.

The icon for the "Next (unread)" button is a double version of the down arrow of the "Next (Move to the next message)". It might have come from an Add-on, but I cannot find one. The N accelerator/shortcut appears to work exactly the same, although I was not aware of it.
It has been working properly for several years and versions of TB. I personally find it useful for reading quickly through the latest incoming messages and tagging or deleting them.
