Why do I keep getting "Warning: Unresponsive Script" error message?

more options

I have been getting that error message occasionally & quite often recently especially on Facebook today. There is only a handful of websites that I've been to that I get that message. I have clicked "continue" button and the "stop script" button, but message keeps coming back & surfing becomes unresponsive to scrolling or clicking on anything with my mouse.

Please see attached for a specific website I am getting this message from.

Did you see this article: Warning Unresponsive script - What it means and how to fix it?

Another common cause of unresponsive script errors on Windows Vista and higher is the protected mode feature of the Flash player plugin. That feature has security benefits, but seems to have serious compatibility issues on some systems. You can disable it using the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Plugins. On the right side, find "Shockwave Flash" and click the More link. Then uncheck the box for "Enable Adobe Flash protected mode" and try that for a day to see whether it helps.

Hello: I am getting the same message whenever I am on firefox with the same results as noted by others. The message I get also has the following component:

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue.

Script: http://my.xfinity.com/adframe/home/x31:0

Iam not sure what the adframe means. I also note that after this occurs and I have pushed all three selections I also get a short lived pop up error message about a Shockwave plugin not functioning.

Can you help me with specifics on this issue? Thanks.
