Switched from Pop to Imap on Thunderbird
Please explain in detail what you did. You cannot just change an existing account.
I went to tools and the account settings and added all the info for Brighthouse road runner IMAP. I saved all my folders. I deleted the pop settings. I have several junkmail folders now and a few sent message folders. I can't delete these dupe folders even when I rename and delete them. They either come back or I am unable to delete as a message pops up. It is very slow saving messages that I am sending based on the length of the message or attachment. Most times, I have to retry. Also, one of my junkmail folders is putting in non junk messages. Any thoughts on fixing this? Brighthouse says it is a Mozilla issue.

Are you saying you did set up a new IMAP account?
I saved all my folders.
What does this mean?
I deleted the pop settings.
Are you saying you deleted the POP account?
Did you transfer your mail to the IMAP account before doing that?
I have several junkmail folders now
What means 'now'? Did the multiple Junk folders exist initially after setting up the IMAP account? If not, how did you manage to create them?
Also, one of my junkmail folders is putting in non junk messages.
You'll need to train the junk filter by marking good messages as 'not Junk'.
First image: I followed the directions to switch from pop to imap second image: my settings Third: multiple folders Fourth: error message when I try to delete a dupe folder
The last junkmail folder continues to put non junk in. I have been marking as non junk but the messages continue to stay in the junkmail folder instead of moving back to messages. The other junk folder also collects junk messages but they are junk. Depending on the length of the message I want to send is how long it takes to save.
Any suggestions?????????
This is Simple really. You can not delete the folders the IMAP server uses. You have to fall into line. Right click your account and select subscribe. This will show a full list of folders on the server (Not all of them are always shown unless they are subscribed. Thunderbird folder usage needs to be harmonised with this list and you will have to get used to some new names.
SO. Right click your account and in settings >Junk Settings change the destination of junk to junkmail on (I assume) blondfire@tampabayrr.com
Obviously RR uses the junkmail folder and their server side spam tool uses that folder. This will harmonize that making both use the same folder.
You will need to do the same this the deleted messages, change it from trash to deleted messages.
In copies and folders in your settings. Change Place a copy in to sent messages on [Your email address]
You might also want to explore what happens if you archive messages on the server. I have a feeling the Saved folder will have them in. So you may been to change the archiving folder in Thunderbird as well.
Thanks but I am not able to change the default destinations. I cant change from junk to junkmail. Same with trash to deleted.

And why not?
The two drop down options don't allow it. I can't tab in to change.
Ah, I am able to change the drop downs. I just did it. Wish me luck.
