am trying to install Firefox to windows 7 64 bit-- I click to start, then the dialog box asks if want to open or save installer--I click open, nothing happens--have tried several times, same each time--then tried save, and again nothing happened--button will not depress --

May be its browser problem. Try to download Firefox using different browser you have. Download and install again :)

These are the full instructions for installing Firefox

Note the standard Firefox for Windows is a 32bit version. it is probably best to install that, at least initially.

There is a 64bit version for Windows now, but although we have had 64 bit for years on Linux & Mac s it is not yet mainstream in Windows, and is slightly more restricted than the standard 32 bit Firefox.

(It is possible to install & use both versions but let's not complicate matters right now)
