auto update loads but not useable no menus available

firefox did auto update, when it reloads and opens there is one tab and no menu. I could sync it to my other computer but the menu option is not available. have removed and reinstalled but nothing. When I do type in an addy and go to the page I cannot backspace to the previous. Has happened before on updates usually self corrects but not this time
