I used to have a menu bar for my address book now I don't, can'

On my email, when I clicked on the address book , it would appear. Along the top of the window was a menu bar. I could click on "add contact" to add someone. Now the menu bar no longer appears. It is just shows a list of current addresses. I can't add anyone new to my list.

Two issues.

!. Clicking the star beside the name on an incoming mail will add them to your address book. If the star is hollow. If it is all yellow they are already in your address book. Clicking the star allows editing of that contact.

2. Open the address book and press Alt+V. From the menu select Toolbars. ensure Menu bar, Address book toolbar (that has new contact) and status bar all have a tick against them
