Extra session is getting created in firefox post log in to the application from tomcat manager

more options

Launching an application url from tomcat manager shows number of sessions on tomcat manager screen as 1. And on successful login to the application shows number of sessions on tomcat manager screen as 2.

This is not the case for other browsers (e.g. IE, Chrome). Only one session gets created on launching an app and same session continues post login to the app. Spring security has been used for login module.

It was found on upgrading firefox from version 26.0.1 to 46.0.1.
