Sorry if my previous question was posted. I am about to dump gmail after months of trying different solutions to my problem. I cannot attach files in gmail. This is a new problem using Firefox latest versions. Updates, f8 safe mode boot, allowing popups ...no solutions have worked. These solutions are all very old. This is a 2017 problem with the latest version of Firefox. I can attach files in gmail when using Chrome, but not in Mozilla Firefox. Please help. thanks

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename/remove the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in current Firefox releases.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

  • make sure that your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version

There is security software that can interfere with loading content, so check that as well.
