Firefox doesn't warn me when websites try to reload themselves even though I have it set to do so.
I frequently visit the website omniglot.com, which reloads itself often for security reasons. However, this constant refreshing causes major lag on an old computer like mine, and it makes it so I can't go back if I'm on a page too long. I went to options and checked "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page," but it didn't warn me, much less help. It DID, however, warn me when I verified my new account so that I could ask this question. How do I fix this?

Can try a Extension and see how it works for you : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/refresh-blocker/ You will have to see if is usable on xp.

It still doesn't work!
It is always possible to ask them http://omniglot.com/contact.htm
It is a developer/debugger thing that has to have code written then added to one of the .js files in your profile. You might try here https://stackoverflow.com/questions/43487692/how-would-you-stop-a-page-from-refreshing-automatically if the Firefox Menu then Options then Advanced under General - -> Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page is not working out for you.
