The FAQ’s says that Mozilla Firefox will review and announce in September 2017, the final date that Firefox will issue security Firefox ESR Updates running on Windows Vista Home Premium.

The previous announcement was some rime in September, but that the final decision had not yet been made as a review of the number of Vista users would be undertaken in September 2017.

Can Firefox ESR team please state and also place a message in Firefox Help or About Firefox to say what the final decision upon ending Vista security support is.

I use v52.3.0. One person has said Firefox will continue and it will be V59.

What is Firefox own team current final official answer?

Chosen solution

Firefox 52 ESR will continue to get updates until the beginning of 2018. It will not be updated to Firefox 59 if you use XP or Vista. You should strongly consider updating to a new version of Windows, buying a new computer, or switching to linux, as Windows vista is not secure.

Hi Tyler Downer:

Referring to the future release calendar for Firefox at https://wiki.mozilla.org/RapidRelease/Calendar, does that mean that XP/Vista will continue to receive security updates for FF ESR v52.x up to and including the final ESR v52.8 (scheduled for release 01-May-2018) ?

Yes that is correct. Keep in mind that ESR does not receive all security updates, and no stability updates. You should upgrade your OS ASAP.

Just an FYI that Mozilla posted an official announcement yesterday (04-Oct-2017) on their Future Releases blog at Update on Firefox support for Windows XP and Vista, which states in part "Today we are announcing June 2018 as the final end of life date for Firefox support on Windows XP and Vista. "
