This seems to be Linix or Ubuntu specific, since the same videos play under Windows 7. Here is one for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=24&v=IhAIzc1MgVc There are others.

When I try to play some videos FireFox (55.0.2 64bit) errors out with the below message: See attached file.

I have all the latest updates to Shock, Flash, etc.

If I try a Oracle VM and Windows 7 it still can not play the files If I go to a Windows machine it plays fine.

I'm running Ubuntu Mate 16.04 on a Lenovo G780 with all the latest updates. Another user has similar issues.

Thanks, Fred

Current Firefox versions use the HTML5 media player. This video uses for me VP9/Opus if I check the stats via the right-click context menu.

You can open the YouTube test page to check support in Firefox for playing HTML5 media.
