Does the menu entry still work (Edit -> Find)?

Does this also happen with other ways to start a (quick) search like the quote (') and the forward slash (/) and Ctrl+G ?

Which Firefox locale (user interface language) do you use in case it is broken?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Wow thank you! Starting Firefox in Safe Mode, closing it, than starting it normally actually helps with a lot of bullshit!
