Have now created u/n and pw, am on Windows 7, when opening Firefox it tells me that an update is available I click on download now, nothing happens. ?

Try to run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).

Hi, you don't need a user-name or password to download or use Firefox.

Try downloading the update from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

Incidentally, you have an old version of Flash. You can update from -

Install Flash Player - take care to deselect any optional offers!
