I accidentally installed an add-on called emailaccountlogin and I don't seem to be able to get rid of it. I have even deleted Firefox and reinstalled several times, but that has not helped. I tried going to manage add-ons but it doesn't come up. do you know how I can get rid of this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi  !

Unfortunately that 'emailaccountlogin' is malware, that you will of course want to get rid of.

Go to the 3-bar menu (or   'Tools') => Addons => Extensions and look for any unfamiliar or suspicious looking extensions, like e.g. :

• SafeSearch Incognito • SearchAssist Incognito • File Convertor and Search Addon Although I doublt that these three are connected to this culprit. When you find any unfamiliar extension though : remove it..

However :   most malware will be 'hiding' somewhere , so let's run malware scans :

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners.
They all work differently   -   what one program doesn't pick up, the other might.

Another thing you can try (as to the add-ons)

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Locate and remove the add-on.
